This standard primarily classifies enterprises, institutions, government agencies, and individual practitioners based on the similarity of their production or other socio-economic activities, that is, by their industry classification. It divides the national economic sectors into four levels: major categories, medium categories, and minor categories. There are 13 major categories:
- Agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, and water conservancy;
- Industry;
- Geological survey and exploration;
- Construction;
- Transportation and postal and telecommunications;
- Commerce, public catering, material supply and warehousing;
- Real estate management, public utilities, residential services and consulting services;
- Health, sports and social welfare;
- Education, culture and arts, and radio and television;
- Scientific research and comprehensive technical services;
- Finance and insurance;
- State organs, party and government organs, and social organizations;
- Other industries. These two classification methods are consistent with my country's national conditions, concise, practical, and reflect the current state of occupations in my country.
