Currently, my country has over 2,400 large-scale enterprises across the entire petroleum and petrochemical equipment industry chain. Its product variety and industrial scale rank first in the world, forming a complete and mature industry chain layout. The main advantages are reflected in the following aspects:
1. Advantages in scale and capacity across the entire industry chain: my country is the only country in the world with a complete petroleum and petrochemical equipment manufacturing system, with leading global coverage of core product categories:
- High localization rate: The localization rate of onshore oil and gas drilling and production equipment is 90%, the localization rate of shallow-sea oil and gas drilling and production equipment exceeds 70%, and the localization rate of refining and chemical equipment reaches 95%. The vast majority of conventional equipment can be produced domestically, without relying on imports.
- Mature industrial clusters: Several specialized industrial bases have been formed in China, such as Dongying in Shandong, Panjin in Liaoning, Jianhu in Jiangsu, and Baoji. Leading enterprises drive the coordinated development of small and medium-sized "specialized, refined, and innovative" enterprises, enabling rapid completion of the entire supply chain for large-scale projects.
2. Technological Breakthroughs in Extreme Scenario Equipment: my country has achieved technological leadership in several extreme exploration and development scenarios, including deep and ultra-deep formations and deep water, with some equipment reaching internationally leading levels:
- 10,000-meter Deep Well Equipment: China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has developed the world's first 12,000-meter automated land drilling rig, completing a 10,910-meter ultra-deep well drilling mission. The accompanying 10,000-meter deep well ultra-high temperature drilling fluid technology has solved world-class problems of ultra-high temperature and ultra-high pressure, supporting my country's deep oil and gas resource development.
- Deepwater Oil and Gas Equipment: CNOOC's independently built "Haikui-1" is Asia's first cylindrical floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, marking a high level of self-reliance in my country's design and construction technology for all types of FPSO units.
- High-end Process Equipment: my country can independently manufacture the world's largest 3,000-ton-class integral forged and welded slurry bed hydrogenation reactor, breaking the Western technological monopoly and solving the core equipment needs for efficient processing of low-quality crude oil.
3. Cost and Delivery Efficiency Advantages: Compared to foreign suppliers, Chinese petrochemical equipment offers a significant cost-performance advantage:
- Under the same technical specifications, domestically produced equipment is typically priced at only 1/2 to 2/3 of imported equipment, substantially reducing investment costs for oil and gas companies and refining enterprises.
- Domestic companies offer shorter delivery cycles, faster after-sales response times, and can provide localized services throughout the entire product lifecycle, significantly reducing operation and maintenance costs.
